Transferring Vinyl To Cup

You are trying to apply your decal to your favorite water bottle and after rubbing it down on your cup for 5 minutes the vinyl will not come off the transfer tape and release onto the cup.

Transfer the design to your mug. Since the plastic is smooth and nonporous the vinyl should stick fairly easily. Once you have cleaned the mug put it in the drying rack to enable it to dry completely. Get your free svg here.

As you peel the vinyl should come off the backing with the transfer tape. If you are having trouble burnish again and peel even more slowly using your fingernail to help guide the vinyl off the transfer tape. Depending on your design and where you have cut your slits press your design down in sections. But really it should work really nicely on plastic.

Then carefully peel back the transfer tape at a 45 angle or more. So you just want to cut out a piece of transfer tape that is roughly the same size or at least the same size as your design. Once you have the transfer tape on use a scraper tool or an old gift card to scrape over the design to make sure the transfer tape is adhering to the vinyl nice and tight. Burnish rub the design with a scraper. Put the mug in an oven safe dish and bake at a low. You can also use a clean paper towel to dry the mug quickly. Then slowly start to peel up your transfer tape at any corner.

Apply transfer tape to the design. Carefully remove the transfer tape. Press from the middle first and then slowly out to the edge. Apply the design to the mug.
