Too Much Marble In Bathroom

In my all white bath which is actually many shades of white i used a white marble basketweave floor tile with a tiny black dot.

Too much marble in bathroom.

Right now i have picked out bianca carrara marble slab polished for vanity tops his and hers dark cabinets carrera white polished tile floor 12x12 shower wall tile is daltile first snow elegance honed 3x6 horizontal brick set and first snow elegance. I see 5 different tile treatments in this bath. I need advice how much is too much marble in a bathroom. Choosing the tiles is proving a chore and we don t seem to be able to agree the best way to future proof as best we can.

Because marble contains minerals there s always the risk that its iron content will turn to rust in a bathroom. If the main floor tile was too big to create a slope for the drain used the square marble tile for the shower walls and shower floor making the shower enclosure consistent. That little dot adds a lively point of reference. If you decide to add a color i suggest light or medium tones to avoid too much of an abrupt contrast. In this attic bathroom the sloping ceiling is high enough to avoid too much of a soaking so tiles only cover the walls.
